The historic reference for art fairs
Founded in 1970, Art Basel established itself as the world's most influential modern and contemporary art fair, well before its Miami, Hong Kong and Paris offshoots. The Swiss edition remains the most sought after by major galleries and institutional collectors.
A week that transforms the city
During the fair, Basel concentrates the bulk of the global art market: over 280 leading galleries present their artists, while the whole city comes alive with satellite exhibitions, private dinners and gatherings organised by partner luxury houses.
From French-speaking Switzerland
Many of our Geneva-based clients make the trip for the day or for a short stay, the link between the two cities remaining fast by high-speed train or private vehicle. It's an opportunity to combine the fair with time by Lake Geneva.
Access that requires planning ahead
Invitations to private previews and trade-only days are generally obtained through the galleries themselves, ahead of the event. Basel's hotels are fully booked by spring, often requiring accommodation nearby or a base in Geneva.
Our concierges' advice. If Basel's hotels are full, a day trip from Geneva is entirely feasible with a chauffeur, over a journey of around two and a half hours.
Planning your stay
We organise your visit to Art Basel: a private transfer from Geneva, or a combined stay across both cities.
