A very small circle
Unlike ready-to-wear, Haute Couture remains regulated by the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture: only around fifteen houses worldwide may officially present collections under this label. Chanel, Dior, Schiaparelli, Jean Paul Gaultier and Givenchy present one-of-a-kind pieces, hand-made in their Parisian workshops.
A carefully selected audience
Shows are held by invitation only, in locations kept secret until the last moment: private mansions, hidden gardens, or monumental sets built for a single presentation. The audience is mostly made up of haute couture buyers themselves, rather than the general press.
A busy week despite its exclusivity
Though reserved for a small audience, the week generates intense activity in Paris: private fittings in the workshops, house dinners, and personalised appointments for the houses' longstanding clients. Golden Triangle palace hotels are fully booked from the previous autumn.
Getting around discreetly
The secrecy surrounding show locations until the last moment demands great responsiveness: a chauffeur on permanent standby, able to reach an address given only hours in advance, remains the only reliable option during this week.
Our concierges' advice. Show addresses sometimes change the day before: we systematically recommend a chauffeur on full standby rather than one-off transfers during this week.
Planning your stay
We provide a chauffeur at your disposal for the whole week, able to adapt to last-minute schedule changes.
