Why Montreux
Discover Montreux
with Noctis.
Montreux owes its fame to its jazz festival in July, but the town is worth visiting all year round: mild climate on the shores of Lake Geneva, a flower-lined promenade, and the UNESCO-listed Lavaux terraces just minutes away.
Many of our clients stop here between Geneva and the neighbouring Alpine resorts, or choose the Swiss Riviera for the quiet of its shores outside festival season.

Practical Guide
Montreux,
the essentials.
Montreux changes with the seasons: the buzz of the Montreux Jazz Festival in July, the gentle lakeside of spring and autumn, the Christmas markets in winter. Its central position on the Swiss Riviera also makes it an ideal base for Geneva, Lausanne and the resorts of the Vaud and Valais Alps.
Here is what we advise our clients when planning their stay.
Getting There
Geneva airport, which has a dedicated business aviation terminal, is about an hour away by the lakeside motorway. Trains also link Geneva Airport to Montreux in just over an hour, with direct services.
Exploring the Region
Lausanne is about 25 minutes away, Villars and Leysin under an hour, Gstaad about an hour, Verbier 1h15. Car-free Zermatt is reached in about two hours to Täsch, then by shuttle train. We arrange these journeys with a private chauffeur from Montreux.
The Montreux Jazz Festival
During the festival's two weeks in early July, lakeside hotels are fully booked well in advance and traffic in town is heavily restricted. We plan accommodation early and arrange chauffeur-driven journeys as close to the stages as possible.
The Calendar
Spring and autumn bring a mild climate and quiet shores; July revolves around the festival; from late November to late December, Montreux Noël fills the quays. In winter, Montreux is a peaceful base for skiing in Villars, Leysin or the Vaud Alps.
