A Festival by the Water
The Montreux Jazz Festival runs for around two weeks in July, along the lakeside promenade. The programme extends well beyond jazz and draws an international crowd. The town, usually quiet, changes pace completely.
Staying on the Riviera
The Fairmont Le Montreux Palace is the historic address, but availability is limited during the festival. Le Mirador above Chardonne, the Hôtel Victoria in Glion, or a private residence facing the lake make excellent alternatives, with a chauffeur for the evening journeys.
From Geneva
Allow about an hour by road. It's a simple journey, which we handle very regularly, with late-evening pickups after the concerts.
What's Nearby
The UNESCO-listed Lavaux terraces, the Château de Chillon and the Rochers-de-Naye are all easy day trips. A private boat outing on Lake Geneva remains one of the finest experiences in the region.
