A race that sets the standard
First run in 1920, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe is considered the greatest flat race in continental Europe. Every first Sunday of October, the world's best horses compete over 2,400 metres at Longchamp, in the Bois de Boulogne, before an international crowd of owners, breeders and racing enthusiasts.
A social occasion as much as a sporting one
Beyond the race itself, the day is a social event in its own right: a fashion competition, presidential stands, private lunches in the boxes. It's one of the rare Parisian events where the world of horse racing and high society openly meet.
The Longchamp racecourse
Fully renovated in recent years, the racecourse now offers modern reception spaces while preserving its unique historic setting on the edge of Paris. The best seats are booked months in advance, particularly the private boxes.
Combining with a Parisian weekend
The date, in the heart of autumn, suits a full weekend in the capital well: dinner the night before, the race on Sunday, then an evening at one of the great restaurants of the Golden Triangle before the end of your stay.
Our concierges' advice. Private boxes at Longchamp sell out quickly: a request made in July or August has a far better chance of success than a last-minute booking in September.
Planning your stay
We organise your day at Longchamp: box access, a chauffeur for the day, and an extended stay in Paris.
